Leone Stars vs Tunisia

image
Feeling mightily rough (more on that later) I was lucky enough to go and watch the Leone Stars (the national team) take on Tunisia on my last day in Sierra Leone. All the boys and the staff attended as well so it was a really good day out for them too.
Johnny (the academy manager) is currently running the team with Coach Tom from the academy providing performance analysis as part of the technical team.

I would love to say they won but sadly Tunisia equalised in the final two minutes of the game, still a good result though and the comments from the crowd around us seemed to indicate that everyone was pleased with the teams performance.
I did have a bit of a shock when the army turned up along with the police in full on riot gear.. The reason for their attendance soon became clear though! It seems as if its ok to throw bottles and things down onto the beach, either in frustration or celebration!
